Blogging For Innovation
George Couros runs the education blog The Principal of Change that I've been checking out recently, and he has some great ideas. The first thing that hit me wasn't even an education post, but a post about change. 3 Crucial Elements of a Being a Change Agent is a great article to read about innovative mindsets. His writing is fun to read and his posts are easily digestible, and this one hits home with my entrepreneurial spirit. As a prospective business educator, the innovative entrepreneurs have always been an interest to me, but incorporating many of the same ideals in educators gives us great innovators like George Couros.
As illustrated by his dapper plane selfie and many others on his Instagram George shows a willingness to put himself out there for the benefit of his profession. George has been encouraging new teachers to blog, as we're doing now, to share what they are learning with the entire world. In his post "'One' is not enough" George talks about the opportunities teachers have interactions with students not even in their classroom. He talks about the difference one comment from a teacher uplifting a student can make, and that is a powerful message for any teacher to take away from his writing.
