Tech EDGE: Mobile Learning in the Classroom Podcasts
Tech EDGE is a phenomenal research for the technological teacher. The videos are short, digestible, and relevant at more than one grade level and area of emphasis. While there are many apps that I already are aware of and using every day, there is no shortage of new and useful information to be found at this channel. I found myself lost in the videos watching several before I picked out my favorites that I could showcase here.
The first app that I checked out from Tech EDGE was Curiosity. This is a great app that could be useful for something like bell work. As the students come in and get settled down, they could be reading one of the short articles found in the app, and have a chance to share interesting things they learned. It can also be topical, depending on what stories are there for the day. It also is a great way for students to use time when they finish their work, in a study hall or the end of class this could keep them entertained and educating themselves. The next app that I looked at was Evernote. This is a great note taking and sharing app. It can help keep you organized, centralizing your notes across multiple devices, and sharing documents with your students. While many schools that are one to one have apps like Canvas to do this, it is still a helpful and useful tool. |
