Apple Teacher Badge #2: iMovie
While reading the iBook about iMovie, and earning my badge, I learned a lot about this easy to use and helpful software. I've used iMovie in the past, my school was one to one with MacBooks but have never used it on an iPad. The first thing that struck me was how phenomenally easy it was to create stunning videos in short periods of time. I remembered back in high school that most of my video projects were cheesy and didn't turn out very well, but after learning to use the arsenal of tools at the disposal of Apple users, you can create beautifully edited videos.
The audio tools were expansive. A user is allowed to add in voiceovers, background music, and sound effects with ease and control their volumes and positions in the film. This makes it really easy to have the viewer hear what you want them too, whether it is that stinger over the top of eerie background music in a horror movie, or just balancing actor conversation over music or other effects. Sharing the video couldn't be easier. You can airdrop it to other devices, useful for sharing video between colleagues or people who worked on the film with you, and even save it to the device. Once you have the edited video file, you can then upload it to whatever site you would like to share it. This has definitely changed my outlook on personal video editing, so thank you Apple Teacher! |
